I’m not exactly sure where it started. Birth? If we are talking about expensive taste then yeah, probably. Everyone is allowed to be a basic bitch in one aspect of their lives and mine is in beauty. (And maybe more than one area—we can parse that misogyny maybe another time.) Anyway, I have desire. Insatiable desire that gnaws at me in kind of an OCD way until I give in. No more so than in what we are generously calling “trying times.” Can I afford these things? Not really. But also I haven’t actually whipped out Apple Pay for them all yet, either. But I want them, they haunt me, and I think you might too.
